Backwards Navigation & Single-Use Flows
We’re excited to announce two new enhancements coming to the Flows system, designed to improve end-user experience and offer clients greater control over how Flows are consumed.
Backwards Navigation: Seamless Step Review
Users can now navigate both forward and backward within a Flow. When going back, previously completed steps are presented in read-only mode, allowing users to:
Review their earlier answers without changing them.
See their progression through the Flow without confusion.
Why read-only?
To maintain data integrity and avoid unintended consequences. Many Flows include branching logic and embedded Automations that are triggered based on user inputs. Allowing input changes after progression could cause conflicts (e.g., duplicated or skipped Automations). Read-only ensures that completed steps remain consistent and tamper-proof.
Single-Use Flows: One and Done (with Resume Support)
You can now configure Flows to be single-use — perfect for assessments, onboarding, or one-time surveys.
Key behaviors include:
Single Completion Enforcement: Each end-user can complete the Flow only once.
Auto-Resume: If a user leaves the Flow before finishing, they will resume exactly where they left off.
Post-Completion Review: Once completed, users can revisit the Flow in read-only review mode, including using backwards navigation to see all prior steps.
This enhancement is ideal for structured processes that require a single, uneditable submission — while still offering users full visibility into their responses.
