We're rebuilding the platform's messaging system from the ground up—replacing the legacy infrastructure with a modern, unified communication experience across every channel. The new system gives coaches a single place to manage all member conversations, introduces real-time chat with media support, and delivers the reporting and scale your programs need to grow.
What's Changing
Unified Conversation Feed Every message between a coach and member—email, SMS, and in-app chat—now lives in a single, chronological conversation thread. No more switching between screens to piece together a member's communication history. Coaches see the full picture in one place, with channel and source indicators on every message.
In-App Chat with Media Messaging Members and coaches can now exchange messages in real time through the mobile app and web portal. Chat supports images, voice recordings, and video recordings for richer coaching interactions. Read receipts and typing indicators let both parties know when messages have been seen and when a reply is on the way.
Push Notifications The Avidon mobile app now supports push notifications, keeping members engaged even when they're not actively using the platform. Coaches and automations can trigger push alerts that deep-link directly to the relevant screen—a new chat message, a challenge check-in, or a course lesson. Members control which notification categories reach them, and quiet hours ensure messages aren't buzzing at 2 AM.
Coach Performance Dashboard with Platform Benchmarking A brand-new reporting experience answers the question every coach wants to know: "How am I doing?" Coaches see their response time, response rate, message volume, read receipt rate, and proactive outreach frequency—each displayed alongside an anonymized platform-wide baseline segmented by panel size. Instead of metrics in a vacuum, coaches see where they fall within the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles of their peers.
Scalable Bulk Messaging The 1,000-member send limit is gone. Tenants can now send bulk email, SMS, and push notifications to up to 50,000 members per send (with enterprise tiers supporting up to 500,000). The system queues and chunks sends into carrier-compliant batches, with real-time delivery status streaming back to a campaign dashboard.
In-App Announcements A new communication surface lets you publish persistent, dismissible announcements directly within the member experience—targeted by segment, scheduled for future publication, and automatically expired when no longer relevant. Perfect for program launches, policy updates, or time-sensitive notices that need more visibility than a push notification.
Message Scheduling & Drafts Coaches can schedule messages up to 30 days in advance and save works-in-progress as drafts. Scheduled messages appear in the conversation feed so coaches always know what's queued, and they can edit or cancel before send time.
Smart Tags Everywhere Dynamic personalization tokens like
{first_name}work across every channel and every origination method—coach manual sends, automations, flows, templates, and API calls. If a tag can't resolve, the system falls back to a configurable default so members never see a broken placeholder.External Messaging API Enterprise systems can now send messages across all channels through a single, secure API endpoint. Messages sent via the API appear in the unified conversation history alongside coach and automation messages, with full smart tag resolution and template support.
Tenant-Level Administration Reports Administrators get aggregate visibility across their entire coaching team: coach-by-coach performance comparisons, member engagement trends, delivery health by channel, SMS usage and cost tracking, and campaign/template effectiveness—all exportable to CSV.
