UPDATED PRIVACY POLICY
The privacy policy has been updated in order to better align with new privacy regulations.
UPDATED REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR NEW & CURRENT USERS
For New Users
There are new registration requirements for new users in order to comply with regulatory rules. New single sign-on portal users will be directed to a registration page before beginning a course. This registration page will request information and the user will be required to accept terms and conditions before they are able to begin taking a course.
For Current Users
The new regulatory requirements also apply to current (returning) users. For users who have already begun a course, they will be given a short message the next time they sign on asking them to accept the terms and conditions. After the user checks the box to accept, they'll resume their course where they left off.
This update makes it absolutely clear that the user has acknowledged the use of the personal data and given consent.
What this means for the client:
There is nothing you need to do. This update is part of our continuous effort to remain in compliance with all rules and best practices.
What this means for the user:
New users will need to enter their name, birthdate and gender. Both current and new users need to check a box to accept terms and conditions.
JOURNAL IMPROVEMENTS
Previously, the journal was located in the Library for each individual course, which meant all entries from users were isolated inside a single course. The journal is now located in the Tools dropdown menu and exists outside of specific courses as an overarching feature in the SelfHelpWorks portal.
The overall look and feel of the journal has also been improved.
What this means for the client:
The journal can now be disabled upon request.
What this means for the user:
The journal will keep entries for all courses providing a greater sense of continuity and cohesiveness for users who take more than one course. The aesthetic and functional improvements to the journal should encourage entries and give the user a broader scope of the journey they've taken. Creating permanent behavior change has an introspective element to it, and the journal is a tool that helps facilitate the process of cognitive change and personal growth.
COURSE PLAYER IMPROVEMENTS
Certain segments in the course sessions can't be skipped. The course player "continue" button has been updated to more clearly indicate the action needed in order to proceed in certain cases. If a user attempts to continue when further action is needed, a brief message will display.
For example, if a quiz question has not been answered, the user must answer it to continue:
What this means for the client:
There is nothing you need to do, this is just an improvement for the user experience.
What this means for the user:
There will be more clarity on how to proceed through sessions.
ABILITY TO UPDATE CUSTOM FIELDS & PORTAL GROUP FIELD FOR SSO CLIENTS
SSO clients now have the ability to update and change existing user-data for the nine custom fields and the portal group field. Previously, this data was only added to the member record once during the member's registration and could not be updated or changed thereafter. Now this can be done for their members during every sign-on.
What this means for the client:
SSO clients can update and change member data at will. SelfHelpWorks will now record that information each time the member signs on. This data then becomes available for reporting purposes.
What this means for the user:
This has no impact on the end-user.
