"Incentives" & "Recommended" Badges Enabled For Courses

We now offer two new features for SSO and User Eligibility clients that aim to increase user engagement.

"Incentive Bonus" badge feature

This feature allows SSO and User Eligibility clients to clearly convey to users which courses are incentivized. This is done by displaying an “Incentive Bonus” badge next to the qualifying course tile(s) on both the member and course homepages.

To enable This feature:

The HasIncentives attribute must be added to SAML assertion, which contains a comma-delimited list of courses to which the badge can be applied. This can be done on a per-user basis and is updated with every successful SSO or User Eligibility update.

"Recommended" badge feature

This feature gives SSO and User Eligibility clients the option to emphasize the most relevant course(s) for specific users.

For example, if an HRA indicates that a user smokes, the LivingFree (tobacco cessation) course will be recommended for them. This is done in a few ways:

  1. A slide promoting the recommended course is added to the carousel at the top of the member homepage
  2. A green check-mark denoting recommended courses displays next to applicable courses on the courses drop-down menu
  3. Recommended courses are listed before the others, and the "Recommended" badge displays on the member and course homepages

This feature works in coordination with the recent implementation of RelayState in place of the PreferredCourse attribute. The PreferredCourse attribute will continue to work for existing integrations, but we strongly recommend moving to RelayState and Recommended Courses because of the additional functionality and flexibility.

To Enable This Feature

The IsRecommended attribute must be added to SAML assertion, which contains a comma-delimited list of courses to which the badge can be applied. This can be done on a per-user basis and is updated with every successful SSO or User Eligibility update.
