Release Notes: November 2, 2020

Posted by Avidon Health Product Team on Nov 6, 2020 1:23:27 PM

This release was predominantly focused on modernizing language and instructions across all elements in all courses.

Annual Content Review & Update

During this last release all courses underwent a rigorous review process which focused on the modernization of language and instructions. Course and content reviews take place yearly to assure the product is as relevant, appealing, and effective as possible for participants.

All courses are structured similarly—each course is broken down into sessions, and each session contains the following essential elements:

  • Video lessons
  • Quizzes and surveys
  • Reading materials
  • Assignments

Each of these components plays a distinct role in achieving the targeted lifestyle change in the participant, and all were reviewed during this release.

Videos

There are hundreds of videos across all courses and they were all individually reviewed during this process. Any language from the presenter that referenced outdated technology and outdated practices were removed and, in many cases, replaced with new instructions that are more appealing and practical for today’s user. References to outdated technology were cut from videos and new overlays, encouraging updated means of completing essential assignments, were added to videos:

There were a total of 60 videos edited.

Quizzes & Surveys

Quiz and survey content remained largely untouched during this review. The content in quizzes and surveys are almost entirely reflective of the foundational concepts of the cognitive behavioral training philosophy that the courses are based on, so they did not need to be updated.

Reading Materials

Reading materials summarize and sometimes expand upon the information delivered in the video lessons. The vast majority of reading materials did not require editing, but there are occasional health-related studies cited to emphasize a point of learning; any study cited that was published five or more years ago was removed and replaced with a more recent, relevant study.

Assignments

Assignments are presented to users at the end of each session and are the most significant means of cultivating the new mindset that enables participants to embrace the healthy behavioral change they want. Traditionally, users were encouraged to print assignments out and, in many cases, to write out answers to prompts. While some instructions to print were kept for some assignments, almost all assignments have now been augmented with more instructions that provide more modern options.

The most prevalent assignments that are most foundational in the cognitive training process are the key to success cards. These cards are issued throughout all the behavioral training courses. Previously, participants were instructed to print cards out and carry them. New instructions now encourage participants to download the cards through the mobile app and view them directly on their mobile device.

There were a total of 65 assignment sections edited.

In Summary

As always, we remain committed to maintaining the high standards of our product to ensure we reach the best possible rates of efficacy in participants. This release was largely centered on the annual, comprehensive content review of the product in specific aim of modernizing any outdated language, references, and instructional practices.
