This release contains an addition to the admin website and, for course participants, increased functionality for three course-reminder options.
The following only applies to standard login (i.e., not Single Sign-On) portals where courses are locked by default. This type of portal is typically used for organizations or health/wellness providers (physician, chiropractor, psychologist, treatment center, health coach, wellness consultant, etc.) which gives individuals (or groups of individuals) an activation code that unlocks specific SelfHelpWorks courses.
A new module, called Course Activation Codes, has been added to the Settings section of the admin website. This module is accessible to users who have been assigned the "Manage Activation Code" role.
Once entering into the Course Activation Code module, a user is able to do the following:
Codes are created and configured on a per-portal basis. After identifying the portal to which the code applies, the creator will select the course(s) that this code is capable of activating. After taking these first two steps, there are several other configuration fields to fill out that will further define aspects of the code's use:
There is also an optional description field the creator can use to further identify the reason for having created the code.
After activation, codes can be edited for all fields (except for the associated portal).
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE CLIENT:
Admin users whose portal is configured to give members (or groups of members) the ability to unlock courses using an activation code can access the Course Activation Code module to view, edit, and add activation codes.
Participants have the option to receive reminders pertaining specifically to three courses:
Previously, these reminders were automatically set to opt-out, meaning that participants had to turn them on themselves if they wanted to receive them. These reminders were also interlinked within our system, meaning that if a user was enrolled in two or three of the courses, they could receive either all or none of the reminders.
With this update, users are now automatically set to receive the reminders, and can opt-out of the reminders if they choose. Further, users enrolled in more than one of these three courses can opt-in and/or opt-out of each individual reminder.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE USER:
This update gives course participants more control over their experience. The automatic opt-in ensures that all users will be fully aware of what's being offered, should they choose to opt out.
