This release contains the addition of Spanish language closed captions to all course-related videos, increased accessibility support, and a new calendar view in the course homepages.
As part of our ongoing efforts to increase and expand the accessibility of our product, we've added Spanish language closed captions to all videos in all courses.
Now that we've added this enhancement, we have also added a feature in the member profile that records preferred language of the user. By setting a preferred language, closed captions will automatically default to the chosen language.
Any user who would like to read along in Spanish during video-playback in any course can easily do so simply by turning on the Spanish closed caption option in the CC drop-down menu.
Alt-text for all images across the entire portal have been applied and/or updated ensuring that software will read and interpret menus and content in a logical order.
This improves the accessibility of our solution and is another step towards full Section 508 compliance that we aim to achieve by the end of Q1 2019.
Users who depend on screen-readers will have a better experience as their software interacts with our solution. All applied alt-text is relevant and semantic which creates a smoother user experience.
We have added a button on the course homepage that allows users to see their scheduled sessions as they appear on a traditional calendar.
Users can still see their session schedule directly on their course homepage with each session and scheduled start-date listed vertically down the page.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THE USER:
Users have the added option of seeing their course schedule planned out in a traditional calendar view.
